Up and at em’ early- setting up our stall for ‘Survival Day’!

Well done to Uncle Gary Williams and Jinda Maxine Jarrett for representing Muurrbay on this special day and showcasing the hard work that we do here, when maintaining and continue on with our language.

This is evidence of our survival and we should all be proud that we have intelligent people in our communities that hold this space for our culture and dedicate their time to show the real beauty of being Aboriginal.

‘Survival Day’ onlookers were in awe of the new Gumbaynggirr Language Dictionary- our new edition has really been the hype of the Gumbaynggirr Nation. We have been flooded with requests from our networks and community- all the hard work has paid off!!

Congratulations to everyone who participated in the ‘Survival Day’ activities.

Thanks to Ruth Link for being our deadly photographer. All photos can be viewed via Facebook

SD3On the 26th Jan 2016, The Gumbaynggirr nation came together to honor and pay tribute to our Ancestors who fought bravely upon the arrival of the ‘First Fleet’… Today we celebrate our struggle, our fight, our connection, our children, our future, OUR LAND…
