The Muurrbay team headed to the Bellingen Readers & Writers Festival to celebrate books, language, and culture with the community during the long weekend.

Saturday began with Uncle Gary participating in the Welcome to Country and Culture panel at the Memorial Hall alongside curator, writer, artist and activist Djon Mundine, moderated by Seth Jordan. It was a fantastic discussion exploring language, culture, and history.

Later in Maam Gaduying Park, Uncle Gary joined Brother Steve Morelli and Micklo Jarrett, with Nell Higgins facilitating a special session celebrating Muurrbay’s 40th anniversary. The conversation reflected on the importance of language and culture, and the significant impact Muurrbay has had—and continues to have—as a Regional Language Centre.
