Banyjarrambi!!! The Gumbaynggirr Giingana Freedom School opened on April 7 and Muurrbay CEO Gary Williams and staff were excited to attend.

It was a proud day for all Gumbaynggirr people and supporters: the opening of the first bilingual school featuring an Aboriginal language in NSW, starting with K – Year 2, but growing to cater for Year 12 students by 2030.

Bularri Muurlay Nyanggan Two Path Strong, under the leadership of CEO Clark Webb and Muurrbay, under the leadership of CEO Gary Williams have formed a partnership to work together on the revitalisation of Gumbaynggirr language and culture, bringing the language into all areas of life and strengthening the identity and well-being of all Gumbaynggirr people.

The future for all the Giingana students looks very bright indeed!
